Port City WBC Weekly News

On Tuesday 27th May we held our Biggest Morning Tea and we were served with delicious scones, jam and cream before going out onto the greens.We also had a Spider and Robyn Biddle thanked everyone for their generosity in raising $628.45 for the Cancer Council.  Well done everyone.
Another round of the Club Fours was played today. Lynne Thompson def Adriana Cutler, Robyn Biddle def Beth Schubert, Elaine Eames def Pat Light. On Saturday 24th Hannah Clohesy def Jeanice Schiemer.
On Thursday 22nd May the Regional Triples Play-Off were held at Westport Club. The Port City Team of Margaret Doyle, Robyn Biddle (sub) and Faye Schollum won the first game against the South West Rocks Team. Unfortunately, in the afternoon Port City was defeated by Tuncurry/Forster Sports in a very exciting game. Well done Port City.
President Barbara advised that Nancy Kennedy has resigned from bowls after
19 years membership and we wish her well.

We sadly announce the death of Helen Spooner on 7th May. She will be sorely missed by many of our ladies.

As of 7th June our green fees are to be increased from $6 to $7.

Birthdays this week and next week– Val Bott, Gail Carmody, Ingrid Code, Robyn Hehir, Elaine Moss, Joyce Ebbeck,Wendy Elliott and Frances Fairbrother.
Next Monday and Tuesday we will be holding our Versatility Fives Carnival.

Our 60th Birthday Party will be held in two weeks time, 10th June and the list will be taken down next week. All ladies will be required to wear club uniform.
The Regional Fours Play-Off will be held at North Haven on Thursday 12th June. We congratulate our Port City Team consisting of Debbie Amor, Carol Bowman, Barbara Barrett and Judy Brady and wish them all the best. We encourage all ladies to come and cheer on our players.
The Regional Pennant Play-off will be held at South West Rocks on 16th and 17 June and the club will be providing the small bus to take a cheer squad.
The Regional Singles Play-off will also be held at South West Rocks on 24th June.

Club Triples open 8th June, will close 24th June and be played 8th July.
Panthers Open Triples will be held 25th June.
