Weekly Report 23rd June 2019
We will start with a big congratulations to Lynne Thompson, Jenny Roberts, Dianne Fischer and Anne Wilson on winning the Club Fours Championship this year. Well done ladies.
Results for the last few weeks – On Tuesday 11th June 2019 -There were rounds of the Club Fours and the winners were L Thompson, J Roberts, D Fischer and A Wilson defeating W Byers, J Blackler, L Watson and A Innes, then there was D Lynch, M Duhigg, O Tolmie and P Kelly defeating P Murphy, B Roberson, A Constantine and V Stewart.
On Tuesday 18th June 2019 the final of the Club Fours was played, and the winners were Lynne Thompson, Jenny Roberts, Dianne Fischer and Anne Wilson who defeated Patricia O’Brien, Susan Malzard, Anne Todd and Alma Pritchard in the final.
Now we are up to the Major Pairs Championship for 2019 and the first round was played on Friday 21st June 2019 and the results were L Watson and H Millard defeating D Spinks and M Avery, P Murphy and A Constantine defeated J Grimshaw and S Proctor, M Dewson and B Roberson defeated Y Howard and A Wilson, J Blackler and W Byers defeated P Kelly and J Howard, A Innes and A Todd defeated M Simmonds and R Jones, L Thompson and J Roberts defeated P Begley and H Duhigg, S Malzard and V Hamilton defeated N Scott and A Pritchard, H Durrant and F Brassey defeated D Fischer and R Hancox.
Then on Saturday 22nd June 2019 H Durrant and F Brassey defeated S Malzard and V Hamilton.
Social Bowls for the following weeks were, on the 11th June 2019, P Cahill, T Wise, W Sharples and J Roth/T Aafjes were the lucky rink winners and the runners up were R Holmes, D Teiffel and D Batts/N Scott.
On the 18th June 2019 L Thompson, J Roberts, D Fischer and A Wilson were the lucky rink winners and the runners up were R Hancox, E Mason and E Roberts.
Saturday 22nd June V Stewart, W Sharples and W Foreman were the lucky rink winners and the runners up were M Duhigg, C Bouffler and W Foreman who was the swinging lead for both teams.
Reminders as usual ladies, please check the boards for information as we have the AGM on the 2nd July 2019.
