News from Lake Cathie - MBC

The news report for the week ending Sunday 3rd December, 2017 from the Lake Cathie Men's BC is now available.

The latest news report follows with thanks to Ray Downes.

LAKE CATHIE MEN’S BOWLING CLUB
WEEK ENDING SUNDAY 3RD DECEMBER, 2017

The annual Muldoon Shield and President’s Shield competition between our Club and North Haven took place on Saturday. Although Lake Cathie won both shields, with cross winds up to 50 kph, quite often the result was in the lap of the Gods. On this occasion the Gods shone on Lake Cathie; I look forward to the rematch next year in better conditions. Thank you, North Haven members, for a very enjoyable and fiercely competitive game.

The dog ate the result sheet last week so if you missed out on getting your name in the paper you can blame it on him. He just does not understand bowls; If he cannot fit it in his mouth he is not interested.

This week Vic Ley, Steve and Joye Grimshaw teamed up to collect the winner’s prize on Monday. David Jourdent, Mary and Russel Simmonds were the lucky losers. On Thursday Graham Platt, Peter Teiffel, Geoff Howard and Paul Dewson were the winners. Runners up winners were Bill Metcalfe, Mike Storrier, Warren Jamison and Bob Hoban and lucky losers were Ian Howe, Harry Weegen and John Gillett.

On Saturday Ken Taylor and Peter Slattery were the grinners and lucky to lose was the usually formidable team of Max Heslehurst and Gordon Gray.

I’m sorry I ate the result sheet last week
