The latest news report follows with thanks to Ray Downes.
The Monday Mixed Triples game is proving popular, in no small way due to the efforts of our President Gary Blackler and his helpers. Last Monday Vic Ley, Esther Bailey and Bill Bailey were happy grinners with R. Seear and R. Seear happy to accept the lucky losers prize.
With 24 teams on
Wednesday filling the two greens for Classic Pairs; Gary was a happy man as
were the winners Gary Russell and Terry Duff. Dean Gemmell and Howard Burrows
took out second prize with third prize going to the all ladies team of Marion
Buckley and Robyn Stanton. The new format of three games of 12 ends proved
popular with everyone. It made the day less of an endurance test and of course
do not forget that the prize money is being increased to $800 next month.
It is good to see Harry
Weegen back on the green. Harry teamed up with Keith Woods,
Graeme Bateman and Geoff Worley to win on Thursday. Keith Clarke, Graham Fairburn, Dennis Hamilton and Mike O’Neill were runners up. John Javis, Derek Wright, George Ganic and Bill Bailey were lucky losers.
