News from Kew - MBC

The news report from the Kew Men's BC for the week ending Sunday the 4th December, 2016 is now available.

The following is this week's report with thanks to Brian Charters.

Another very successful Classic Triples Carnival was held on the 26th and 27th of November 28 teams took to the greens to enjoy a great weekend of bowls, teams from 13 different clubs participated in the tournament.

Round winners were teams lead by Ken Baker, Terry Burley, Rob Piper, Barrie Isaac and John O’Neill.
The major prize went to Eric Rowsell, Ian Binder and Tom Smith from Port City, 2nd place Dave Horton, Earl Paget and Peter Griffith from Kew, 3rd Terry Duff, Charles Doyle and Mitch Brennon composite team, 4th Mark Fenwick, Christian McKay and Gordon McKay and 5th Rob Edwards, Daryl Novak and Rocky Davis. Congratulations to all winners.
The presentation was followed by a huge raffle and our ladies once again provided a delicious morning tea that was appreciated all. A full field of 28 teams has already entered the 2017 carnival.
Wednesday social bowls results and picking up the winner’s prize were Carl Schirmer, Warren Bate and John Gemmell the minor prize went to Jimmy Race, Bob Sims and Peter Laing. Voucher winners Pat O’Connor, Lisle Crossing, Matty and Tony Austin.
Members Xmas party and presentation is on Saturday the 10th of December starting at 10am please be there to see Santa arrive in a T Model Ford, names must be in today for catering purposes a delicious two course meal has been arranged.

Bowls on Wednesday and Friday names in by 11.30.
