Port City WBC Weekly News

After all the rain over the Easter Break it was really good to see Tuesday turn out to be a bright sunny day, and 46 bowlers took to the greens including visitor Lorraine Palmer.
We also had the second semi final of the Club Major pairs being played between Judy Brady and Carol White. What a great game to watch, for the most of the game it was shot for shot. Then Carol got away to the lead and came out the winner. Carol now plays Janine Stockham in the final, which is to be played this Thursday 9th April, 9.00 start.

Lucky rinks: - 1st Carol White and marker Lynne Thompson
Consolation     Lynne Robertson, Eveline Ramsay, Pamela Ditchfield

Raffle Winners: - Bonnie Weatherley and Betty Hall

50 Club 1st Helen Cooper, 2nd Eveline Ramsay, 3rd Robin Kean

Happy Birthday to Zelle Cook, we hope you enjoyed your day.

The Easter Raffle was won by Lyn Frances.

Paddle Pop Pairs is going to be the new game on Thursday mornings, 9.15am for a 9.30am start. The first game is to be played this Thursday 9th.

Veteran’s Day is being held at North Haven next Tuesday 13th, morning tea 10.00am.

Gala Day is on 5th May, so there’s plenty of time to get your items for the Trading Table.
On the same day the Grade 3 Pennant Team are being presented with the District Pennants Badges and Flag. Also on the same day it is our Quarterly Meeting, what a busy day.

To any of our members or their families who are not very well, we wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you back at the club soon.
