News from Port City

The news report from the Port City Men's Bowling Club is now available for the week ending Sunday 26th April 2015 thanks to Colin Halls.

Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or clean smart casual, with collared shirt, neat shorts/slacks.

Only one pennant game played this weekend. The grade 6 completed their match at North Haven, going down 74-60.

The draw for the major singles is on the board, the first round to be played May 3rd.

Forward events; Tuesday May 12th to Thursday 14th May is the 2 bowl handicap triples tournament and on Friday 19th June to Sunday 21st June the Grade 6 & 7 2 bowl triples. Both these tournaments are very popular and carry substantial prize money. Put your teams in early to secure a start. Flyers are available at the club.

Free coaching is available on Saturday and Sunday mornings (bowls provided). Just turn up at 10 am.

Social Bowls

Wednesday:- Winners;- J. Browne-B. Crombie ( Mr Reliable)-J. Cranna. Consolation :- E. Rowsell-G. Mitchell.

Thursday:- Winners:- E. Rowsell-I. Binder.   Consolation:- K. Taylor-N. Schwartz.  A.J. and Chris Thornton won the jackpot of $600.

Friday:- Winners :- P. Baker- P. Smith.  Consolation:- B. Halding- T. Murray. Terry Murray missed the $600 jackpot.

Sunday:- 64 bowlers enjoyed a bbq before bowls, which will now be a regular feature of our Sunday bowls. The jackpot was won by J. Milnes-Norma Schwartz-J. Munson.
