Port City WBC Weekly News

President Barbara welcomed visitor Judy Legras to our ladies day of bowls, and Margaret Dornan who has been away for some time. After all the summery weather it was quite cool. At 11.00 am we observed two minutes silence for Remembrance Day.

Lucky rink winners were: - 1st Noelene Williams, Judy Legras and Lois Bishell.
2nd Carol Banks, Wendy Kennedy and Beth Hicks. Consolation Margaret Dornan, Barbara Owens, Rhonda Evans, Brenda Burge.
50 Club winners, Noelene Williams, Loris Muir and Barbara Barrett.
Raffle winners, Anne Connell, Margaret Doyle and Val Bott.
Terry the Tarantula was on the green again and closest to him was Adriana Cutler who won a gift voucher.
Happy Special Birthday to Dulcie Holihan and to Trish Wellings, we hope you enjoyed your day.

Circuit Training with Shirley and Margaret is continuing on Friday mornings 10.00 am start weather permitting.

After a vote between all the clubs in the Hastings Area it was decided that Gala Days will continue in the Hastings area and next Tuesday it is our Gala Day, please put your name on the sheet if you would like a game. We are also having a trading table, any donations of items – cakes, plants, books etc., would be appreciated, and there will be a spider.

It’s that time of year again and the boxes are out for donations to the Salvation Army. This year they are asking that we do not wrap the gifts. There are 2 boxes – one for gifts and one for non perishable food items.
Christmas Party Day is on 9th December and there is a special sheet on the board to enter your names, also a section if you want ‘lunch only’.

To any of our members or their families who are not very well, we wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you back at the club soon.

Names in or out of bowls or ladies wishing to play a half game on Tuesdays only please ring the bowls office 6583 1153 before 8.00 am.
