On Tuesday it was our Gala
Day and President Barbara welcomed District President Diana and Secretary Carole.
We also had visitors from Westport, Lake Cathie, Port Panthers, Wauchope,
Comboyne and Kew.
The weather was very good with a slight breeze keeping the
temperature down a little and over 100 bowlers enjoyed the day.
There was a Trading Table
with lots of goodies and specials and together with the spider we were very
happy to present a cheque for $1136.00 to the Hastings Haven District.
President Diana presented special gifts to some lucky ladies, Joyce Ebbeck, Val
Bott, Elaine Eames and Joy Barry.
Thirty lucky ladies left the
club having won prizes in raffles, 100 club and lucky envelopes.
Congratulations to Rhonda
Evans and Eveline Ramsay on being selected to play in the Inter Regional Games
being held at Maclean on 20th and 21st November. We wish you
good bowling.
Encouragement Day will be
held next Tuesday 25th, so there won’t be any Social Bowls. We have
24 teams of bowlers who have been playing less than 6 six years, from around
the district and beyond. Last year the winners were a composite team from South
West Rocks/Kempsey Heights.
Presentation Day is on 2nd
December, BYO Lunch.
The list is on the board for
our Christmas Party Day, please put your name on it if you would like to play,
and there is a section for ‘lunch only’. The boxes for gifts or non-perishable
items of food for the Salvation Army will be out every Tuesday, please don’t
wrap them.
Circuit Training with Shirley
and Margaret is continuing on Friday mornings 10.00 am start weather
permitting.
To any of our members or
their families who are not very well, we wish you a speedy recovery and look
forward to seeing you back at the club soon.
Names in or out of bowls or
ladies wishing to play a half game on Tuesdays only please ring the bowls
office 6583 1153 before 8.00 am.
