News from Port City

Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or smart casual, with collared shirt.

We will be holding a pre-season pennant tournament which will run for three weeks, Nov 22, Nov 29 and Dec 6. There will be prizes and the tournament is sponsored by Hastings Co op and Greg Keft Electrical. It will l be 2 bowl triples over 18 ends, single entry. Different teams each week. Sheet is on the board and all intending pennant players for 2015 are invited to participate.

There is a pennant attire info sheet on the board. Please place your name and type of attire on the sheet. This is for 2015 pennant uniform.

A big welcome to new member Phil Dacre who has come all the way from the Lake District in the UK to play bowls at Port City.

Men’s Xmas pairs shoot out on Saturday 20th December, starts 12 noon.  Neat Casual single entry. Cost is $10 and includes sausage sizzle.

Talk about travelling bowlers-what about Greg Brims and John Hrabak. Firstly they played in the Champion of Club Champion Pairs at Nowra, reaching the semi finals, going down to Cabramatta the eventual winners. Then on to Woolgoolga to play in the Club Challenge Gold Division. The Port City team defeated Woolgoolga in the morning, and Inverell East in the afternoon. They will now travel to Warilla to play in the semi finals (and hopefully the final) on the week end of December 6/7. Congratulations to all players.
