News from Port City

The news report from the Port City Men's BC for the week ending Sunday 30th November is now available thanks to Colin Halls.

Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or smart casual, with collared shirt.

It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of our good mate and clubman Bob Counsell. Bob passed away last Friday 28th November. Our condolences go to his partner and family.

On the last two Saturdays we staged the paddle pop 2 bowl triples ( Trevor’s triple). Next Saturday, the 6th December will be the 3rd and final round. Entries are still being taken for this popular tournament which is being sponsored by Hastings Co op IGA and Greg Keft Electrical. There will be prizes, vouchers etc, etc.

Men’s Xmas pairs shoot out on Saturday 20th December, starts 12 noon.  Neat Casual single entry. Cost is $10 and includes sausage sizzle.

Next weekend 6/7 December, will see a visit from Hibbard and Westport travelling bowlers.

In the NSW Club Challenge to be held at Warilla on the weekend of 6/7 December, in the gold division the team from Port City of Mike Rand (singles), John Hrabak & Greg Brims ( pairs) and Greg Keft, Callum Murray, Dale Atkin & Bryce Stewart ( fours) will play Terrigal in the semi final. We wish them good luck. Other teams from the North Coast who have reached the semis are , Silver Div West Coffs who play Kurri Kurri, Blue Div Macksville who play Diggers@ The Entrance and in the mixed Gold Div Taree Leagues take on Valentine.

The super Xmas ham raffles start this Wednesday 3rd, and continue for the next two Wednesdays. If you can’t make it to the club on those days you can pre purchase tickets. Just see a committee member who can make arrangements for you.
