The third round of the Consistency Singles was played today and the results are as follows – Karen McFarlane def Debbie Amor, Beth Schubert def Eleanore Russell, Grace Greenaway def Ella Wright, Hazel Durrant def Judy Scholz. The next round will be played on Thursday 24^th October.

Carol White is in Victoria from 22^nd to 25^th October playing for NSW in the Interstate over 60’s team. We wish Carol and the team the best of luck.

We were sorry to hear from our Welfare Officer, Betty Hall, that Megan Hobson has had another fall. We wish her a speedy recovery.

Birthdays this week – Margaret Doyle on 17^th October and Betty Hazell on 26^th October.

Christmas is fast approaching and our Christmas Party will be held on 10^th December. Boxes are now available at the club in which you can place any donations you wish to make. Grocery items would be most appreciated. If donating clothing, please mark clearly gender and size for adults and for children please mark clearly gender, size and toy suitability.

Port City Gala Day will be held on Tuesday 19^th November. We would appreciate donations of potted plants, home-made cakes, craft and other items suitable for re-sale.

Melbourne Cup Day, on Tuesday 5^th November at 9.30 am we will be holding a Mixed Triples event. Regulation uniform, or mufti is allowed. The cost is $48/team, or single entry $16. This will include a two-course lunch and champagne and orange juice will be provided on the tables. There will also be a fashion parade.

Entries close on 1^st November – the Friday before Melbourne Cup Day.

Please pay and collect your receipt at Reception. It should be a great day.

Our Quarterly Meeting will be held on Tuesday 12^th November, after bowls. This is your opportunity to find out what is happening at your club and to have your say.
