Despite predictions of a very hot day for today’s bowls, the strong breeze managed to keep the temperatures down for the first round of the Minor Singles. President Barbara welcomed Margaret Aird, who has been absent from bowls for a few months. It was lovely that she came to watch her friend Daphne play her match. We hope that Margaret is back playing with us again very soon.
From 12th – 19th October the State Championship Play-offs will be played at Tuncurry and we will be represented by Pat Light and Jennifer Munson in the State Pairs and  Carol White, who will be contesting the Singles. Congratulations and good luck to all of you.

Consistency Singles closed today and will commence 15th October.
Pink Panther Day will be held at Port Panthers on 23rd October.
Stocklands/Queens Lake Carnival (North Haven) will be held on 28th October.
Lake Cathie Gala Day will be on 29th October

Our next Quarterly Meeting will be on Tuesday 12th November, after bowls.
Kew is holding their Under 6 Years Encouragement Day on 12th November. This is a great opportunity for any of our newer bowlers. We are sure you would have a great time and enjoy the experience.
Port City Gala Day will be held Tuesday, 19th November.
Encouragement Day for under 5 years bowling will be held at Port City on Tuesday 26th November. This is a fours event, so start getting your teams ready now. There is a list of names on the board of people eligible to play in this event. The cost is $20 per person and this included morning tea, lunch and 2 x 18 ends of bowls.
We are very fortunate to have Shirley and Margaret on the greens as usual at 10.00 am this Friday for circuit training and coaching. This is a good opportunity to brush up on your skills.
