In spite of dire weather warnings of high temperatures 52 ladies arrived at
the Club for a game of bowls on Tuesday 8th January and the weather turned out
quite pleasant as there was a lovely breeze.
President Barbara wished everyone a Happy New Year and welcomed Maureen
Cutting back to bowls after a lengthy absence having had shoulder surgery.
We were all advised to drink plenty of water and not to continue if feeling
unwell. We only played 18 ends of triples, as this will be the new format from
now on, instead of 21 ends.
We were advised that in April our Club will be 75 years old and we will be
having a full week of bowls to celebrate, with something very special on Tuesday
16th April and we will be able to invite members of other clubs to play.
We welcomed the following ladies who attended our non playing members
morning tea. Rosemary Aylett, Beryl Young, Veronica Davey and Marianne
Smith.
The forms for the Ladies Easter Carnival are out, so if you wish to
play now is the time to get your teams together.
Ladies coaching will start on Friday 11th January at 10.00 am and Bryce
Stewart will commence ladies coaching on Thursday 10th January at 4.00 pm.
