Port City WBC Weekly News 18th October

We had a beautiful Spring day for our Social Bowls at 9.30 am on Tuesday 16th October.

Also the first round of the Consistency Singles was played.

The following players have advanced to the next round to be played on Thursday18th October.

Frances Fairbrother, Eveline Ramsay, Debbie Amor, Rhonda Evans, Mary Bennett, Grace Greenaway, Elaine Eames, Barbara Owens, Anne Connell, June Edward, Lorraine Cannon, Jenny Wallis and Eleanore Russell.

Lucky Rink Winners were 1st - Elaine Eames and Marker Shirley Devine,

2nd - Mary Bennett and Marker Robyn Biddle, 3^rd - Lorraine Cannon and Marker Marion Miller, Consolation Betty Hodgson and Marker Beth Hicks.

60's Club Winners - 1st Joy Surrey, 2nd - Eleanore Russell, 3rd Fay Martin.

We are now selling tickets for the Christmas Hamper which will be drawn on Christmas Party Day on 11th December.

Port City Gala Day will be held on Tuesday 20th November and we need some more spiders.

There will be no social bowls on Thursday 25th October.

Melbourne Cup Day is on 6th November. The event is Mixed Triples. There will be the usual fun day starting at 9.30 am. There will be champagne served on the green. Dress can be mufti or uniform. There will be prize money totalling $600. The Fashion Parade will feature Noni B and Lowes Menswear.

Entry Form and fee of $48 per team to be handed in to the Change Box. There will be a two course meal provided and champagne and orange juice. Single entries will be accepted. Anyone who wishes to come for lunch only will be welcome and the cost will be $16 per person.
