Port City WBC News 25th October

We were pleased to be able to play bowls on Tuesday 23rd October after heavy rain overnight.

Lucky Rink Winners were Daphne Sumsky, Kerry Bolsover, Barbara Owens.
Runners-up were Patricia Mitchell, and Margaret Walsh and Consolation were Trish Wellings, Gwen Hollis, Robin Kean.


Raffle Winners 1st  - Debbie Amor, 2nd  Mary Bennett

50's Club -1st - Shirley Devine, 2nd - Robyn Walsh, 3rd Ann Kirk.

Third Round of the Consistency Singles was played. Debbie Amor def. Eveline Ramsay, Elaine Eames def. Mary Bennett, Lorraine Cannon def, Anne Connell. Semi-finals to be played on Tuesday 30th October

There will be no coaching on Friday 26th October.

Congratulations to Adriana Cutler and Karen McFarlane who have been chosen to play in the Regional Team in the playoffs at Coffs Harbour on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd November.

Carol White and Judy Brady played in the NSW over 60's Interstate Championship team. Winners were NSW.

Melbourne Cup Day is on 6th November. The event is Mixed Triples. There will be the usual fun day starting at 9.30 am. There will be champagne served on the green. Dress can be mufti or uniform. There will be prize money totalling $600. The Fashion Parade will feature Noni B and Lowes Menswear. Entry Form and fee of $48 per team to be handed in to the Change Box. There will be a two course meal provided and champagne and orange juice. Single entries will be accepted. Anyone who wishes to come for lunch only will be welcome and the cost will be $16 per person.

Just a reminder that Kew is holding an Under 5 years Bowlers Encouragement Day on Monday 12th November, 2012 ($60 per team) and they are looking for more players.

The Members only Mixed Fours Event will be held on Saturday 8th December. Dress will be uniform and the game will consist of 3 x 12 ends. You will need to provide your own lunch but there will be over $4000 in prize money. Single entries only.
