President Shirley welcomed the District Match
Committee to the club for the playing of the District Triples Championship. It
was a glorious day and the weather brought out some players who haven't
attended for some time - Megan Hobson, Margaret Willis and Betty Hazell.
As the Pennant Play-offs will be held at our club
on 15th/16th May there will be no social bowls but members and visitors are
welcome to come along and cheer for their teams.
Round 3 of the Club Major Pairs will be held this
Saturday starting at 9 am. Games set down are (skips only) M. Walsh v D. Amor -
B. Schubert v B. Barrett - J. Stockham v B. Griffiths. The draw has been made
for the Club Fours Championship which will be held on Tuesday 22nd May. This is
also our Quarterly Meeting which will commence after bowls at approx 1 pm. We
need your attendance for a quorum - so please put the date in your diary.
The non playing members morning tea was held and
although small in number the girls had a great chat and a cuppa. Marianne
Smith, Lorna Whitehead, Jan Goldman, Muriel Whitbourne, Beryl Young, Gwen
Turner, Irene Turner and Veronica Davey had a lovely morning with us.

It is with a great deal of sadness we advise that
two of our esteemed members passed away this week. Norah Dale and Betty Baker
who were held in high regard by all members and will be greatly missed. We send
our understanding love and deepest sympathy to both families.

if you are experiencing health problems please get well soon.
