Kew Men's Bowling Club
The final of the major singles was played on Saturday in very difficult conditions and it is a credit to both Mick and Dean who handled the gusty wind and fast green with ease the score changed several times during the match but it was Mick Stuttard who prevailed and won an exciting game against Dean Gemmell with the final score being 31/25. Congratulations to both Mick and Dean on a great game played in the right spirit.
The AGM was held on Saturday morning with a good number of members in attendance Barrie Isaac will lead the club again for the 20-21 season assisted by Chicka Thompson as VP Dave Napper secretary, Tony Austin Treasurer and John Gemmell as bowl organiser along with Peter Laing, Frank Raczka, Gary Hamilton and John Jarvis the committee.
All the bowlers at the club would like to wish Ray Pantlin all the best for his medical procedure in Sydney and a speedy recovery.
The triples continue with 2 games on Wednesday Bill O’Donnell, Gary Hamilton and Mick Stuttard def Steve McGregor, Adrian and Ian Hilton, Stewart Rogan, Jeff Dixon and Peter Ryan, Steve Hall, Warren Bates and Terry Stringer. Sunday morning another 4 games were played Gary Ruprecht, Chicka Thompson and Barrie Isaac def Steve Anderson, Ingo “La Stud” Model and Dave Jones, Dean Gemmell, Trevor Robb and Terry Miles def Frank Raczka, Ray Allan and Mick Ashford, Bill O’Donnell, Gary Hamilton and Mick Stuttard def Ian Poole, Dave Napper and Peter Laing, John Brown, Bill Bailey and Charles Doyle def Gary Cheers, Paul Cini and Peter Griffith.
Wednesday social John Gemmell, Ron Freeman and Barrie Isaac won the dosh, the runner up moola was won by John Ockers, Daryle Barr and Mick the bickie eater Ashford. Voucher winners were Mick Stuttard, Cliff Kerr, Ray Allan and John Smith.
Monday monthly pairs are on the 7th of September this is an open event men, women and mixed starting at 9am uniform dress is required, grab a mate and be in with the chance to win the jackpot of $1,000 and it must go off if not won on the first draw then a draw for $600 will continue until won then a draw of $400 until won come on out to the friendly club and enjoy a day on the green.
Friday jackpot triples and the jackpot stays in the treasure’s stash and will be worth $266 on Friday the 4th of September. Rink winners were Mick Stuttard, Chicka Thompson and Charles Doyle, picking up the runner up cash were Ian Poole, Dave Napper and Peter Laing. Vouchers went to Dave Napper, Cliff Kerr, Barrie Isaac and Stewart Rogan.
Wednesday social and Saturday cashpot triples are the bowls this week names in by 11.30 12.30 both days mufti dress all welcome.
