Kew Men’s Bowls News.

The final of the mixed pairs was played on Friday morning Barrie and Wendy Isaac played Dean Gemmell and Leonie Murphy and the game wasn’t decided until the last bowl was played and as Barrie always says it was a lucky bowl that got Wendy and him over the line Leonie and Dean were holding 2 shots with 1 bowl to play and Baz took the 2 shot bowls out to win the game. Congratulations to all 4 players on a terrific game.

What a great night on Saturday the Christmas and presentation awards party went off without a hitch the entertainment that featured the voice of Budgie the jokes were many and funny and the atmosphere in the room was excellent, Santa visited handing out gifts and Barrie got tangled up with a tiger. Thanks to Lynell and her staff for a wonderful meal and the bar staff for keeping us hydrated.

Bowlers please note that as of Wednesday the 19th of December we will be starting at 9am not 9.30am noms in by 6pm Tuesday.

Wednesday social and escaping with the cash was John Hilton, Frank Raczka Bob the hand breaker Kennett, the runner up dosh went to Jimmy Race, Tony Austin and Terry Stringer. Voucher winners were Dave Napper, Ron Hale, George Wise and Pat O’Connor there was a special prize donated by Sparra Cheers a seafood dinner for two and that was won by Bob Kennett when urged to open his prize there was two cans of sardines with two bread rolls inside a seafood dinner for two.

Monday monthly pairs got off to a slow start with three and a half teams not notifying the club for not being able to play, thanks to all the teams for their patience while a redraw was taking place. The winners Gary the machine Hamilton and Kevin the wizard Wholohan, 2nd Ian Hilton and Mick the biscuit eater Ashford, 3rd John and Dean Gemmell, 4th Frank Raczka and Barrie Isaac and the two lucky draws for your money back Warren Barnes and Wicky Ray Allan along with Bill O’Donnell and John Davidson.

Wednesday morning social starts at 9.30 am names in by 6pm Tuesday and Friday jackpot triples names in 11.30 12.30 start are the bowls this week.
