Zone 14 Grade 7 Men's Pennant Final
The Grade 7 Zone 14 Pennant final was played at Port City today under cloudy skies and light showers. The Comboyne team took out the Zone title with a convincing 84 - 49 win over Sawtell.

Zone 14 Men's Pennant Finals
The Zone 14 men's pennant finals for grades 1 to 6 were played today at various venues. The grade 7 final, (Comboyne vs. Sawtell) will be played at Port City tomorrow, Sunday, commencing at 12:00 noon.

Engadine Takes out the Final in the Women's Carnival
The Women's Bowls NSW State Carnival was completed today with Engadine winning the final to capture the number 1 position.
In the semi finals Engadine def. Casino 33 - 7
Tuncurry def. Merrylands 20 -7
In the finals Engadine def. Tuncurry 22 - 7
and Merrylands def. Casino 22 - 19 to take out 3rd spot.

NSW Women's Carnival Final Day
Today's play at Port City will see a very successful Carnival come to an end after the semi finals and finals are played. Some clouds and light showers resulted in chilly conditions but good crowds enjoyed some excellent bowls. Results will be posted later.

Test Your Knowledge
The previous question was: 'A marker in singles notes a bowl from another rink could hit a bowl on his rink. He should..' Options were: Lift the bowl to be hit or stop the bowl.
4 voted to lift the bowl and 28 gave the correct action to stop the bowl. Refer Law 42.2.10 - 'The marker must stop any bowls that is from a neighbouring rink that could move a jack or bowl that is at rest.'
The new question concerns a singles game again and the marker's action regarding the length of the jack.

Sectional play continued today in the Women's State Carnival in Hastings Haven under ideal bowling conditions. Your 'happy snapper' took a few photos today and will continue tomorrow at other local clubs.

The LNC Open Men's Triples final was played yesterday, Sunday 24 May, 2015 at Hat Head. The team from Westport took out the title in an extra end.

Sectional play in the LNC Men's Pennant has now been completed with Kempsey Heights winning the Grade 7/1 section with a win over South West Rocks today. They will now play Comboyne next Sat. 30 May in the sectional playoff.

LNC Grade 7/1 Pennant and Triples
"The grade 7/1 match was completed with Lake Cathie defeating SWR 55 – 53.
That puts Port city out of the running. If Kempsey Heights wins tomorrows match against SWR they’ll win the section with a better net margin. If they lose, Lake Cathie wins the section.

Only a Few Days For The 86th BCiB State Carnival!
"In traditional Women’s Bowls NSW fashion, the 86th BCiB State Carnival will be held at the end of May, commencing on the 25th till the 29th, as nearly 900 female bowlers from around NSW and Australia prepare to descend upon the Port Macquarie-Hastings region for what is WBNSW’s flagship event."

LNC Grade 7/1: South West Rocks vs Lake Cathie game to be completed Sat 23 May, and South West Rocks vs. Kempsey Heights game to be played Sun. 24 May.
Saturday 30th May - Zone pennant playoffs grades 1 - 6 to be played at various venues and the Grade 7 sectional playoff to be played at Westport.
Sunday 31st May - Zone playoff for grade 7.

2015 NSW Senior Inter-Zone Sides Championships
The 2015 Senior Inter-Zone Sides Championship is underway at the Harbord Bowling Club with play scheduled from Tuesday 19 - Thursday 21 May.

Mixed Pairs State Championship 2015
As posted on Friday 15th May, Women's Bowls NSW have introduced a State Mixed Pairs Championship. Preliminary rounds are being held in each region with the finals to be held at Tuncurry Beach. Click here for the article on the State site.

Port City WBC
Congratulations to our Grade 3 Pennant Players on defeating Tuncurry and South West Rocks in the Regional Play offs at North Haven to-day. They now head off to the South Coast for the State Play-offs 17-21 August.

Two round 8 deferred games were played at Port City this morning (Sunday) with results as follows with thanks to Graham Connell.
Grade 2: Port City lost to South West Rocks 0 - 2 (50 - 69)
Grade 7/2: Port City lost to Comboyne 0 - 2 (52 - 56)
Full scoring for all grades will be posted later when advise is received from Zone 14.

Round 10 of the LNC Men's pennant was completed today at Port City under threatening skies but the rain held off for the afternoon.

NSW Mixed Pairs Championship
Women's Bowls NSW are excited to introduce the inaugural Mixed Pairs Championship event, which is to be played twilight/evenings and under the Laws of the Sport of Bowls, Crystal Mark, 3rd Edition.
With mixed pairs always a popular format it is suggested you enter early to ensure a place in this new State championship. Regional winners will progress to the State Mixed Pairs playoffs to be held Saturday 31st Sunday 1st November at Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club.

Ballina Singles & Pairs 2015 / 2016
The popular Cherry St Ballina Summerland Series of Pairs and Singles, now in its 53rd year, has received a makeover and increase in overall prize money to $24,500 with Gold and Silver divisional split in the singles event.
Get your entry in if you want to play against some of the best bowlers in the country. It may seem early for a December 2015 - January 2016 tournament but it will fill quickly.
