News from Port City

The report from the Port City Men's BC for the week ending Sunday 21st December is now available thanks to Colin Halls.

The home of the Port City Koalas
Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or smart casual, with collared shirt, neat shorts/slacks

Your committee has launched a new direction with the conduct of our club championships. We would ask you all to support this. Starting with the triples, it is intended to play the first round at 5pm on Tuesday 20th January, culminating through to the final on Friday 30th January. Details will be on the board shortly. The fours will follow the triples. Further announcements will be made regarding the remaining championships.

Please note there will be no bowls on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

No 2 green will be going out on Monday 22nd December, which leaves us with 2 greens (1& 3) until No 4 green comes back in, hopefully early January. This will restrict rink space ( 13) until then.

The first pennant trial for 2015 is scheduled for Saturday 17th January, with grades 5-7 (am) and grades 1-4 (pm).

You may have noticed that our koala mascot has gone missing. Leigh ( the cuddly one) would have us believe our koala “jumped” from his arms and smashed into 1000 pieces. It is believed the koala hospital has taken out an AVO against Leigh, who must not trespass within 100 metres of any koala.

Wednesday:- Winners: John Rossiter, Keith Hall  r/up Tony Owens, Rex Hawkins

Thursday :- Winners :- I. Binder,L. Dodd.  r/upK. Henwood,P. Dacre,B. Chapman.  Jackpot- Bill McMurtrie ( visitor) missed the $600 jackpot.

Both Thursday and Friday jackpots now stand at $600. The jackpots are now in holiday recess until Thursday 15th January.

Saturday Xmas shoot out:- After a great sausage sizzle the winners of the winners were Brian Ditchfield and Peter Gunn, and the winners of the losers were Terry Hill and Don Ramsay. Winners and runners up were presented with a gold plated koala!!!

Sunday :- L. Scholz, N. Williams, G. McKay, E.Eames, M. Green, J. Wyper, L. Bischell, A. Connell, K. Littlefair, J. Reilly.
A merry Christmas to all our Sunday mixed bowlers. Bowls are on next Sunday.

Sponsors. A big thank you to all our sponsors who have supported us throughout 2014. We look forward to your continued support during 2015.

This is my final report for 2014. I trust all our bowlers enjoyed the bowls and friendship throughout 2014. We wish you a very merry Christmas and a safe and healthy 2015.

Cheers, Colin Halls
