Port City WBC Weekly News

What a relief on Tuesday to wake up to a lovely day for our Handicap Triples.
The morning game was played in good conditions, but then in the afternoon the bowls seemed to have a mind of their own. It was pretty tricky.

The winners for the day: - Shirley Devine, Gail Carmody, Jo Jenkins.
        Runners-up: - Jenny Wallis, Frances Green, Barbara Standen
                 Third: - Jan Gauld, Adriana Cutler, Margaret Fowler
     Fourth: - Robin Kean, Robyn Hehir, Pat Murphy
                 AM Winners: - Carol White, Pamela Ditchfield, Wendy Elliott
        PM Winners: - Joan Bird, Marion Miller, Ros Stone
We also had our non player’s morning tea and Marianne Smith, Bonnie Weatherley, Muriel Whitbourne, Beryl Young and Gwen Turner were entertained by the Juniors who were playing their annual Combined High Schools V NSW State Juniors Teams Competition.

The final of the Minor Pairs will be played next Sunday - Mary Bennett and Barbara Owens V Lyn Zahra and Pam Smith 9.00 am start.

Out of Hat 4’s is on next Tuesday 16th please make sure your names are down and be at the club early for drawing of the cards at 9.00am. The sheet will be taken down at 5.00pm on Sunday.

Minor Singles is open and will close on the 16th September with play to commence on 30th September.

Congratulations to Carol White on being made a member of the Over 60’s Team for NSW.

Circuit Training with Shirley and Margaret is continuing on Friday mornings 10.00am start weather permitting.  The Pennant List is on the Notice Board, please put your name down if you wish to be considered for 2015 Pennant.

There will not be any social bowls on Saturday due to the mixed triples shoot-out with a group of visiting bowlers from Telarah. Single entry, the sheet is on the board for you to include your names - $1,000 Prizemoney, dress is smart casual.

Voting for the Board is still on, 9.00am – 5.00pm daily in the foyer until Saturday 20th September and the AGM will be held on Sunday 21st starting at 9.30am. Please exercise your right and place your vote.

To any of our members or their families who are not very well, we wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you back at the club soon.
