Port City WBC September Newsletter

Congratulations to Lyn Zahra and Judy Brady on being our Major/Minor Pairs winners for this year, and also to Shirley Devine and Brenda Burge for runners-up.
Well done to our Grade 4 Pennant Players on reaching the State Finals which were played at Raymond Terrace last week. They won their section and then had to play Nyngan, Narrabri and Lithgow who were winners of their sections. What a tremendous effort and what a lot of bowls. Narrabri were the winners and Lithgow Runners-up.

Our next non player’s morning tea will be on 9th September
And we look forward to seeing you all again.
What’s coming up?
Handicap Triples 9th September
Out of the Hat Fours 16th September
The Coca Cola Triples Carnival on Monday 22nd
and Tuesday 23rd September
The Minor Singles opened 26th August and Close 16th September, they will be played on 30th September
Consistency Singles open 2nd September, close 23rd September with play to commence on 7th October

Have you got a problem?

Bowlers are similar to alcoholics because no-one can help them unless they admit they have a problem.
Unsought or gratuitous advice from a club coach is unacceptable to anyone.  She can coach new bowlers who come to her for help but cannot help the established bowlers who have “lost it” unless they admit they have a problem and seek advice.
Greg Norman is a world famous golfer, but who knows the name of his coach?  Not many, because he is not a top class golfer himself.  However, he was a good coach.
Likewise, your club coach may not be the club champion, but she does possess coaching skills which may help you.
THINK ABOUT IT!!!
It’s Joke Time!
A blonde man spies a letter lying on his doormat.
It says on the envelope “DO NOT BEND”.
He spends the next 2 hours trying to figure out how to pick it up.

A friend told the blonde man: “Christmas is on a Friday this year.”
The blonde man then said, “Let’s hope it’s not on the 13th.”
