News From Port City

Port City Men's BC News report for the week ending Sunday 24th August thanks to Colin Halls.

Club Championships: No club championship games were completed this week due to the wet weather. Please check on the notice board for rescheduled games. Entries are open for the mixed  fours.
Congratulations to Dave Lomas ( committee), Paul Brady (umpires),Ken Paulsen ( selector) and Paul Webster (IT) for their appointments at the Zone 14 elections last Sunday (17th). Great to see Port City represented on the management at zone level.

Wednesday :- Winners J. Davies- R. Carkeek. Consolation B. Collis- M. Rand

Thursday PM :-  Winners B. Apps- J. Rossiter Consolation E. Dasczyk- J. Twidle. This was Bernie’s last day at bowls before returning to NZ. Thanks and good luck Bernie.
T. Schollum & G. Worley just missed the jackpot. Next week it will be $600, numbers 1-5

Friday PM The rains came and caused an early finish. The jackpot next week will be $600, numbers 1-3

Saturday :- No play today due to the rain.

Sunday : The sun came out and 46 players took to the greens. Winners J. Brady- B. Barrett- P. Brady ( stewards enquiry?), 2nd  R. Howard-L. Scholz
