Port City Men's Bowling Club news report for the week ending Sunday 22nd June.

Wednesday :- $15  John Davies & Russell Carkeek . $7 Ed Dasczyk & Ken Lipscombe .
Thursday :- $15  Munday & K Bramble , $7 D Hodge & S Davis .

The Jackpot of $100 was not won by G Huth and G Amos. Next Week the Jackpot will be $140 plus.No 1-18.

Friday, Saturday & Sunday saw the running of the 2014 6’s & 7’s 2 Bowl Triples Tournament. The event attracted 54 teams (162 bowlers) from far and wide. A great 3 days was enjoyed by all.

Winners are Grinners…

The overall tournament winning team was made up of Steve Davis, J Hodge & Ian Jackson from East Cessnock.

Second Place went to P Hvass, R Eriksson, P Ascott-Evans from Port City.

Third place - P Collins, M Ashford & H Burrows from Kew.
Fourth place - J Quinlan, A Hogan & M McAllister from Taree West.

Fifth place – F Pearson, P Schbes & P Butler from Westport and finally 6th place went to the team from St John’s Park comprised of J Tuck, P Inglis & H Johl.

Day 1 Winners: R Clark, G Fuller & B Meyer

Day 2 Winners: R Eldridge, W. Taylor & R Downes

Day 3 Winners: B Sharman, R Apps & J Davis

Lucky Draws went to the teams skipped by Ian McLaren, Don Ramsay, Barry Bird, Ron Nuttal & R Sutton.

Congratulations to Bryce Stewart and Ken Paulsen for winning the District Senior Pairs on Saturday 21st. Well done boys.

Sunday P.M. :- Sunday afternoon social saw 70 bowlers in the near perfect conditions. The Lucky winning rinks were . 1st F Martin, J Humphrey & S McAdam 2nd J Milnes, N Schwartz & J Munson 3rd M Carkeek, F Green & R Carkeek Wallis .

There will be no social bowls on Friday, 27th June due to a 3 Day Mixed Pairs competition commencing.

For all the up and coming bowlers, there is free coaching available to everyone (12 year olds and above welcome). Just turn up to the bowls office Saturday mornings at 10:00 am – but not Saturday the 28th June.
