Port City WBC Weekly News 20th February

Vice-President Carol Bowman welcomed 42 players, with a special welcome to visitor Dawn Perkins from Canada, who will be returning home next week.

Happy Birthday to Barbara Riordan, who celebrated a birthday on 17^th February, Judy Brady, who celebrated a birthday on 19^th February and Jan Gauld, who celebrated a birthday on 20^th February.
Lucky Rinks today were: - 1^st – Lorraine Cannon, June Edward, Eveline Ramsay, and Robyn Biddle. 2^nd – Wendy Kennedy, Maureen Orsulich, Lynne Robertson, Wendy Elliott. Consolation – Helen Cooper, Rita Koenig, Maureen Scholz, Norma Schwartz.

50’s Club Winners – 1^st – Gwen Hollis, 2^nd Noelene Williams, 3^rd Jan Opitz

Raffle Winners – 1^st Robyn Biddle, 2nd Helen Cooper.

Club Singles opened last week. Entries will close on 4^th March and will be played on 18^th March.

Our first Quarterly Meeting will be held on 25^th February, after bowls.

Don’t forget that Social Bowls will commence at 9.00 am on Saturdays for the next few weeks, while the men’s pennants are on.

Ladies Pennants start next week and Carol wishes everyone good luck and most importantly, to have fun!!

The Veteran’s Day this year will be held at Westport Bowling Club on Monday 7^th April and a list is on the board for you to enter. Names to be on the list by 11^th March.

Easter Carnival entries are starting to come in, so hurry and get your teams together and put in an entry for this fun event.

We wish any of our members who are unwell all the best and we hope you are soon back at bowls.
