Port City WBC Weekly News 4th April

 

Tuesday 2nd April was a beautiful day for Social Bowls and Pennants competitions.

President Barbara announced that the 2's team win today in the pennants gave them the flag.

Carol White def Julie McKay and Karen McFarlane def Beth Schubert in the 3rd round of the Club Singles Championship today. Margaret Doyle def Jennifer Munson in the 3rd round last Thursday 28th March.

Debbie Amor and Fay Martin will play the 3rd round on Thursday 4th April.

Norma Schwartz celebrated her birthday on 30th March.

President Barbara congratulated Robyn and Bernie Biddle who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday 30th March. Robyn thanked the ladies for all their cards and good wishes.

Entries for Club Pairs close next Tuesday, 9th April and will commence on Tuesday 23rd April.

Reg Lucas introduced our new CEO Russell Stockham to the ladies.

The President invited the visiting pennant players to enter events to be played during our 75th Anniversary Week of bowls.

All members are invited to attend an Open Forum at 4.00 pm next Tuesday 9th April at the Club to discuss with the Board the Club Redevelopment Plans.

All the proceeds from wrong biases are going towards the Autism Day to be held at 1.00 on Sunday 14th April and raffle tickets are also being sold to raise money for autism. The green fees for the day will also be donated to the Autism Society. Please wear something blue if possible.

Veteran's Day will be held next Monday at North Haven and morning tea will be at 10.00 am.

Panthers Gala Day will be on 22nd May and the sheet is out for entries.

The Coaching Clinic will be held this Friday at 10.00 am under the supervision of our excellent coaches Shirley Devine and Margaret Doyle.
