Easter Saturday 3-Bowl Pairs

On Saturday 30th March we held an Easter 3 bowls pairs tournament and welcomed players from North Haven, Old Bar, Park Beach, Tuncurry, Westport, Kew, Manning Point and Lake Cathie.

 50^th Anniversary

On Saturday 30^th March Robyn and Bernie Biddle celebrated their 50^th Wedding Anniversary. Congratulations to you both from all of us.  Also Barbara Riordan and husband Mick celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in March

 Morning Tea

 We welcomed the following ladies to the non-players morning tea. held on Tuesday 12th March  Veronica Davey, Elaine McGrath, Muriel Whitbourne, Joy Surrey OAM, Nerida Warby, Marie Bignell, Irene Turner, Jan Goldman, Shirley Chapman, Rosemary Aylett, Beryl Young, Gwen Turner, Bonnie Weatherley.

 Veterans’ Day

 The next veterans’ day will be held at North Haven on Monday 8th April.

    Open Forum

An Open Forum is to be held at the Bowling Club on Tuesday 9^th April at 4.00 pm to discuss with the Board the Club Redevelopment Plans which include loss of Green 1 and all members are encouraged to attend.

Club Pairs

Entries for club Pairs close on Tuesday 9^th April and will start on Tuesday, 24^th April.

 Charity Day for Autism

Sunday 14th April is Autism Day and we will be holding a charity game of Mixed Triples in the afternoon with all proceeds going to the Autism Society. You are requested to wear something blue if possible. Raffle Tickets are now being sold to help this appeal.

 75^th Anniversary Week

Our 75^th anniversary week will be held from 15 – 21 April and there will be many bowling events during this week. The entry sheets are up in the clubhouse and there is still plenty of room.

On the morning of Thursday 18th April there will be a "Skirts versus Shirts" event and this will be single entry. Special guests on the day will be Steve Glasson and Wayne Turley. There will also be a bowls exhibition and lunch at a cost of $10 for the whole day.

Anzac Day

 On Thursday 25^th April there will be a Mixed Fours Event. Regulation uniform is required.

 Regional Pairs play-off

Please note that the Regional Pairs Play-off carded for Tuesday 7^th May has been brought forward to Tuesday 30^th April.

This event is to be held at Kempsey Heights Bowling Club and Pat Light and Jennifer Munson are the District Pairs winners and are contesting this event. It would be great to see a large number of our members there to cheer them on.

 Umpires’ Discussion Group

The next Umpires’ Discussion Group Meeting will be held at Lake Cathie Bowling Club on Monday 20 May 2013 commencing at 9.30am.  The meeting is open to anyone interested in learning more about the Laws of our sport or who may be interested in becoming an Umpire.

Port Macquarie Mixed Pairs Tournament

 This event will be held 28 – 30 June.  Port City entries are now full, but there are still some vacancies at Panthers and Westport.
