Last Sunday
14th April the club held a Mixed Triples Event in aid of the Autism
Society and we were pleased to be able to present a cheque for over $1800 to
this worthy cause. Also, the proceeds from the spider and money raised from
wrong biases on Tuesday 16th April were presented to the Autism
Society in the amount of $165.
Monday 15th April saw the start of a big week of bowls for our 75th Anniversary and it was great to see so many ladies from others clubs helping us celebrate and participating in a social game.
Pennants
were also being contested.
The final of
the Club Singles was played last Saturday 13th April between Carol
White and Margaret Doyle. It was a very thrilling game and very close with
Carol winning the championship for the third time. The final result was 25 to
23. President Barbara presented Carol with her badge.Barbara announced that the date for the Handicap Triples will be 30th July.
The sheet is on the board for Panther’s Gala Day to be held on 22nd May. It is never too soon to put your name down as this is the way most of the money is raised for District Events.
Please check your play dates for the Club Pairs. The first round is Tuesday 23rd April and the 2nd round is Saturday 27th April.
The Club
Fours are now open for entries. We are short of spiders and would appreciate
your donations.
On Tuesday there
were 16 Lucky Winners each receiving $25.00.Raffle Winners –1st – Barbara Griffiths, 2nd Shirley Devine, 3rd Val Byrnes,
4th Lynn Hosking, 5th Margaret Fowler.
100 club Winners – 1st Joy Allen (North Haven), 2ND Jenny Devitt,
3rd Rosemary Roach, 5th – Mavis Rank.

on the board for district Nominations.
There will
be events every day this week, culminating with a dinner on Sunday 21st
April. Thursday we are holding a “Shirts versus Skirts” event and guests Steve
Glasson and Wayne Turley will be playing an exhibition match and providing lots
of fun on the day.
Because it
is our anniversary week Shirley and Margaret will not be holding their bowls
coaching on Friday morning.
