Port City WBC Weekly News 21st February

 

On Tuesday, 19th February, the games of District Pairs which were deferred from 5th February due to rain were played. There was a lengthy break in the event due to more rain, but eventually all games were played.

President Barbara reminded us that the Club Singles are open for entries and that the first Quarterly Meeting for the year would be held after lunch.

Judy Brady and Barbara Griffiths both celebrated birthdays during the week.

Congratulations to Carol White on winning the District Singles last week. Carol has won this event for two consecutive years and also in 2010.

District Pennants start on 25th February and we wish all our teams Good Luck!

Hastings Relay for Life will be held 10.00 am Saturday - 10.00 am Sunday, 16th and 17th March, 2013 at Stuart Park, Port Macquarie. Entry fee is $15, and this includes a "Relay for Life" Shirt. We really need your support, as we are short of entrants.

The next Umpires' Discussion Group Meeting will be held on Monday 11th March at Lake Cathie Bowling Club commencing at 9.30 am. All are welcome, particularly those interested in learning more about the laws of our sport.
