Port City WBC Weekly News 23rd February


President Shirley welcomed the Grade 3 (2) pennant team from North Haven and wished all players good bowling. Vi Phillips was also welcomed back after a long absence.

Results for Tuesday 21st February -

Grade 1 Lake Cathie defeated Port City - Grade 2 Port City (1) defeated Port City (2) - Grade 3 Port City defeated North Haven (2) - Grade 4 Port City (1) defeated Port City (2). Heather Clarke was thanked for umpiring and Margaret Edwards and the social committee for a delicious lunch.

Members were reminded of the following dates -

QUARTERLY MEETING 28TH FEBRUARY 1.30 PM - your attendance would be greatly appreciated as we need to have a quorum.

The following events all have closing dates of 6th March - District Triples - District Fours - Senior Fours and Port City Club Singles Championship.

Reminders were given for our Easter Carnival on 7th April - three bowl pairs - $30 per team - entries in the folder or to Carol Bowman.

Handicap triples on 10th April - get your teams together and numbers to equal 9 - entries into the box - no entry fee.

Coaching still available every Friday for pennant or other players to hone up your skills - entries on the board.

Relay for Life is to be held on 24th - 25th March and Robyn Biddle is looking for teams and sponsors for this very popular event for the Cancer Council. Entry fee is $15 which entitles you to a shirt and loads of fun while helping to raise funds for a very worthwhile cause.

To any of our members who are experiencing ill health we wish you a good recovery and better health in the weeks ahead.
