In Wednesday Social Bowls the winners were Budgie Brecard, Dave Wagstaff and David Jones. The Runners Up were John Smith, Andrew Richards and Ian Hodgkinson. Lucky Voucher winners were Bruce Gornall, Rod Fokes, Rick Griffiths and Rob Tucker. The inaugural “walk of shame” saw Ray Allan doing a lap of honor for a wrong bias.
In the Friday Cashpot Triples, Adrian Hilton, Steve McGregor and Mick Ashford claimed the big prize with two wins. Rick Griffiths, Keith Collins and Viv Gunter claimed second place (W/L) while Brian Kirkwood, Neil Dark and Dean Gemmell came third (L/L). Voucher winners were Denis Squires, Brian Kirkwood, Steve McGregor and Anne Smith.
Round 7 of Open Pennants saw some close matches, with Kew Grade 4 missing out by 1 shot on the master board, while Grade 7 drew with Westport. The full results were:
- Grade 4 Westport def. Kew v. 55-54, 1 point to Kew
- Grade 6 North Haven def. Kew 92-46, 0 points to Kew
- Grade 7 Kew drew with Westport 62-62, 5 point to Kew
In the delayed Round 6 of Open Pennants, Kew Grade 6 defeated Westport with Wayne Thrussell’s lads winning their game 32-18, to get the Grade 6 side over the line. The full results were:
- Grade 4 North Haven def. Kew 87-35, 0 points to Kew
- Grade 6 Kew def. Westport 61-58, 8 points to Kew
- Grade 7 Lake Cathie def. Kew 64-51, 1 point to Kew
The Final of the Club Championship Triples has now been scheduled for Sunday 21st of April. Play commences at 10am, so don’t miss this!
The Club Championship Fours commences on 21st April at 1pm (after the final of the triples), and the draw is on Notice Board in the Club House.
Bowls this week are Wednesday Social starting at 12:30 (names in by 11:30), and Friday Jackpot Triples, names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start mufti dress. Add you name to the sheets in the Club Room, or contact Chicka 0423787325, Griffo 0413052684 or text Frank 0417698899.
