Weekly Newsletter - 7th April, 2024

Our Monday Monthly Pairs saw Warren Barnes and Paddy Bristow take out 1st position, Charles Doyle and Gary Hamilton came 2nd, while Mick Ashford and Steve McGregor took out the Bronze. The Round Winners were I.Orr/B.Irwin, V.Gunter/A.Hilton, and W.Thrussell/J.Dixon. In the raffle draw, Paddy Bristow had his name drawn three times, but kindly put two back in. That must be a record getting your name drawn three times!!!

In Wednesday Social Bowls the big winners were Keith Collins, Denis Squires, Rod Fokes and Stewart Rogan. The Runners Up were Rick Griffith, John Smith and Sir Reginald Robb. Lucky Voucher winners included Rod Fokes, Ian Poole, Bruce Gornall and Bob Carr. Mick Ashford had the misfortune to put down two wrong biases, and I’m sure the screams could be heard at Port City, but like a true champ, he copped it on the chin and blew the dust off a few gold coins depositing them into the Collection Box.

Bad weather prevented the Friday Jackpot from being played, so the jackpot will be carried forward.

Round 5 of Open Pennants has been delayed due to the weather. It has been postponed to Sunday 14th April. Given that daylight saving ends this weekend, the Sunday start on 14th will be 10am (cards @ 9:30).

The Final of the Club Championship Triples scheduled for 14th Of April will once again be delayed as a consequence of Round 5 of the Pennants being postponed. The new date is yet to be determined.

The regular Saturday Cashpot will now be played on Fridays for the next few weeks, while Pennants is being played.

The Club Championship Fours commences on 21st April, with entries closing on 12th April 2024. The Entry Sheet is on the Notice Board in the Club House.

Bowls this week are Wednesday Social starting at 12:30 (names in by 11:30), and Friday Cashpot Triples, names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start mufti dress. Add you name to the sheets in the Club Room, or contact Chicka 0423787325, Griffo 0413052684 or text Frank 0417698899.
