Weekly Newsletter 18th February, 2014
Wednesday Social Bowls saw George Wise and Dave Napper take out first prize, while the The Runners Up were Andrew Richards, Pat O’Connor and Rod Fokes. Voucher Winners were Reggie Robb, Steve McGregor, Dave Wagstaff, Bruce Gornall, and Terry Miles.
In the Friday Cashpot Triples, Dave Napper, Rod Quirk and Jeff Dixon claimed the big prize with two wins. Dee Squires, Warren Barnes and Paddy Bristow claimed second prize (W/L), while Terry Miles, Lyn Stuttard and Mick Stuttard claimed third (L/L). Voucher winners were Gary Hamilton, Reggie Robb, Paddy Bristow, and Viv Gunter.
In Round 2 of Open Pennants the results were:
- Grade 4 Kew def. Westport 68-46 to claim 9 points
- Grade 6 North Haven def. Kew 64-41 with Kew getting 1 point
- Grade 7 Westport def. Kew 65-50, with Kew getting 1 point
The washed out games from Round 1 were played today (Sunday) with:
- Grade 4 North Haven def. Kew 79-35
- Grade 7 Kew def. Lake Cathie 61-56 to claim 8 points (Stewart Wellard’s
team won 32-3 to enable Grade 7 to win the Master Board).
The final of the Minor Singles will be played next Sunday 25th February between Dave Jones and Ian Orr, with play commencing at 9am. Come along for what should be a good game.
The Westpac & RDA Fund Raiser will be held on 25th February, 1pm start, $20/person ($40/family), new bowlers welcome. Come along for a great cause, which includes a sausage sizzle. Contact Barrie Isaac on 6559-5225 for details.
Entries for the Club Championship Triples close on 21st February, with the first round being played on 3rd March 2024. Get you team together, and write it down on the sheet on the Notice Board in the Club House.
Bowls this week are Wednesday Social starting at 9am (names in by 8am), and Friday Jackpot Triples, names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start mufti dress. Add you name to the sheets in the Club Room, or contact Chicka 0423787325, Griffo 0413052684 or text Frank 0417698899.
