Weekly Newsletter - 4th February, 2024

Wednesday Social Bowls saw a great level of participation once again. The winners were John Smith, Bruce Gornall and Darren Darcy. Bruce seems to be making a habit of winning, so a big well done! The Runners Up were Andrew Richards, Chicka Thompson, Sir Reginald Robb and Warren Barnes. Voucher winners were Frank Raczka, Bob Carr, Neil Dark and Daryle Barr. Daryle donated a few watermelons, and the lucky winners of these were Peter Laing, Viv Gunter, Biscuits Ashford, and Steve McGregor.

In the Saturday Cashpot Triples Frank Raczka, David Jones and Rocky Davis claimed the big prize with two wins. Daryle Barr, Doreen Barr and Barrie Isaac claimed second prize (W/L), while Jeff Nichols, Maree Cini and Warren Barnes claimed third (L/L). Voucher winners were John Smith, Ian Hodgkinson, Warren Barnes, and Anne Smith. Ian Orr also won a donated watermelon from Daryle Barr.

In the Minor Singles Championship, Round 3 has now been completed. The Semi Finals will now be played next Sunday between Dave Jones and Paddy Bristow, and Ian Orr versus Brad Conway. The full results for Round 3 were:

- Dave Jones def. Chicka Thompson 25-13
- Brad Conway def. Warren Barnes 20-6 (retired)
- Ian Orr def. Andrew Richards 25-4
- Paddy Bristow def. Ian Poole 27-16

The Club Championship Triples will commence on 25th February. Entries close on 14th February, so get your entries in to participate in the great event.

A big welcome to our new member, Neil Dark. Neil threw some great bowls down during our Wednesday Social, and also had his name pulled out of the barrel for a lucky voucher.

Bowls this week are Wednesday Social starting at 9am (names in by 8am), and Friday Jackpot Triples, names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start mufti dress. Add you name to the sheets in the Club Room, or contact Chicka 0423787325, Griffo 0413052684 or text Frank 0417698899.
