Our Monday Monthly Pairs was played in very hot conditions, and the ends were reduced to minimise the impact of these conditions. Coming in first, with three wins was Viv Gunter and Adrian Hilton. Congratulations guys on a fantastic result. Second place went to Paddy Bristow and Warren Barnes, with third place going to Mick Stuttard and Terry Miles. The Lucky Draw went to Chicka Thompson and Jeff Nichols.

Wednesday Social Bowls saw John Hilton, Bruce Gornall and Barrie Isacc take out first prize. The Runners Up were “Mr T”, Peter Ryan and Peter Laing. In a humorous moment, Terry Miles, who arrived late, was announced as “The Late Terry Miles”, thankfully Mark Hammond wasn’t needed . Voucher Winners were Bruce Gornall, Rod Quirk, Steve Hall and Neil Dark.

In the Friday Jackpot Triples, the winners were Andrew Richards, Neil Dark and Viv Gunter. The Runners Up were Ian Orr, Brett Irwin and Stewart Rogan. Lucky Voucher Winners were Andrew Richards, Stewart Rogan, Viv Gunter….. and Steve McGregor. Brett Irwin has a new nick name of “Ricochet Rabbit” after wicking off 3 bowls to get a shot.

In Round 1 of Open Pennants our Grade 6 Team were victorious against Westport (at Westport) winning 9 points to 1, with the Master Board being 71-46 in our favour. Well done guys! Both the Grade 4 and Grade 7 games being played at home were rained out. Round 2 will be played next Saturday starting at 1pm.

In the Minor Singles Championship, the Semi Finals were absolutely fantastic, and if you weren't there, you missed two cracking games of bowls. Ian Orr won against Brad Conway 25-22, and Dave Jones won against Paddy Bristow 25-23 in an absolute thriller. There were some unbelievable bowls played in pressure situations. In both games, the winners came from behind to snatch victory at the end. Congratulations to all for putting on such a great game for everyone that was lucky enough to be there.

Bowls this week are Wednesday Social starting at 9am (names in by 8am), and Friday Cashpot Triples, names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start mufti dress. Add you name to the sheets in the Club Room, or contact Chicka 0423787325, Griffo 0413052684 or text Frank 0417698899.
