In Wednesday Social Bowls the winners were Steve McGregor, Mick Ashford, Peter Griffith and John O’Neill. The Runners Up were Dave Wagstaff, Ray Pantlin, George Wise and Rooster Darcy. Voucher winners were “Captain” Rod Fokes, Dave Wagstaff, Viv Gunter and Terry Miles. It was fantastic to see Brian “Frosty” Charters back bowling, and from what I could see, he hasn’t lost any of his magic.

In the Saturday Cashpot Triples, Andrew Richards, Rod Fokes, and Wayne Thrussell claimed the big prize with two wins. Brett Irwin, Ian Orr (ey-Orr), and Stewart Rogan claimed second prize (W/L), while Peter Mauger, Reggie Robb and Cliff Kerr claimed third (L/L). Voucher winners were Frank Raczka, Denis Squires, Wayne Thrussell and Marg Ashford. There were 6 married couples playing on this day, so we’ve renamed it “Yes Dear Day”

In the Minor Singles Championship, Round 1 was played, with some high standard bowls being played. The battle between Viv Gunter and Reggie Robb was unbelievable, with Viv drawing three shots in the last end to win the match. Reggie, you are an absolute legend and great inspiration, to put up such a great fight in the heat. Round 2 play next Sunday 9am. The full results are:

- Steve Hall def. Ian Hodgkinson 25-11
- Denis Squires def. Adrian Hilton
- Viv Gunter def. Reggie Robb 25-24
- Paddy Bristow def. Brett Irwin 25-19
- Brad Conway def. Jeff Nichols 25-20
- Chicka Thompson def. Dave Harvey 25-15
- Ian Poole def. Darren Darcy 25-17
- Keith Collins def. Dave Wagstaff 27-13

Don’t forget Monday Monthly Pairs Bowls will be played on 5th February. There are still spaces available, so grab a mate and get your name in.

Bowls this week are Wednesday Social starting at 9am (names in by 8am). NO FRIDAY BOWLS with Australia Day. Trial Game Saturday.

Well, that's the scoop for this week. Enjoy your bowls! Cheers Andrew
