Weekly Newsletter - 19th November, 2023

Wednesday Social Bowls saw Adrian Hilton, Budgie Brecard and Wayne Thrussell take out the big prize. Runners Up were Keith Collins, Dave Napper and Rocky Davis. Voucher winners were Rooster Darcy, Bruce Gornall, Terry Miles and John O’Neil.

The Classic Triples was played Saturday and Sunday, with bowlers coming from far and wide to make up 28 teams. Competition was strong, but played in a friendly spirit. What a great weekend of bowls, with everyone enjoying themselves. The results were:

- 1st John Myer / Gary Douglas / Gary Knox.
- 2nd Glen Clarke / Rob Cook / George Mundy
- 3rd Ian Jacobs / Steve Mackinson / John McIlwain
- 4th Danny Bale / Mark O’Neill / Chris Orchard
- 5th Dave Carney / Andy Beasley / Adrian Samuleson.

The Best Card for Saturday was won by Frank Raczka / Chicka Thompson / Rocky Davis, while the Best Card for Sunday was won by Gary Cheers / Carl Paget / Peter Griffith. Round winners were: 1st Round Dennis Hare / Russell Hill / Chris Balaam; 2nd Round Mick Stuttard / Gary Hamilton / John O’Neill; 3rd Round Barrie Isaac / Dean Gemmell / Rob Edwards; 4th Round Cliff Kerr / Ian Poole / Peter Laing,

Handicapped Pairs is scheduled to commence Sunday 26th November. Please remember current (blue) club uniform must be worn during these events (old style white shirts are NOT allowed). Any changes to playing times must be approved in advance by the Controlling Body.

If you haven’t nominated for next February’s Open Pennants, see Frank. Its not too late to be considered. The Presidents Shield (v North Haven) will be played 6th January 2024 at North Haven.
