Weekly Newsletter - 12th November, 2023

Our Christmas Party will be held on Saturday 16th December, with a two course dinner being included. Its free to members, and $25 for partners/non members (being a $10 discount). See the attached Information Sheet for more details. Please write your name down on the sheet on the Notice Board to join a great night.

Monday Monthly Pairs saw a great day of bowls played, with 1st place going to Ian Poole/Gary Hamilton, 2nd place to Peter Wigit/Tony Mallia, 3rd place Suzie Gaskill/Jim Gaskill, and 4th place going to Frank Raczka/Rocky Davis. Round winners were Bindy Notara/Barrie Isaac, Rob Edwards/Peter Griffith and Kim Thompson/Wayne Thrussell.

Wednesday Social Bowls saw Dave Harvey, Bob Kennett and Ian Poole take out the big prize. Runners Up were Brett Irwin and Terry Miles. Voucher winners were John Hilton, Andrew Richards, Barrie Isaac, Bob Carr and Peter Griffith.

In the Saturday Cashpot Triples, Brett Irwin, Ian Orr and Ian Poole took out first prize (W/W), after playing some fantastic bowls. Kim Thompson, Chicka Thompson, and Peter Griffith claimed second prize (W/L), while Dee Squires, Pat Lendrum and Peter Laing claimed third (L/L). Voucher winners were Wayne Thrussell, Barrie Isaac, Warren Barnes and Peter Griffith.

The Club Major Singles Final was played today between Gary Martin and Barry Isaac. A big crowd watched a thrilling game of bowls from both players. The game was close all the way with some great draw bowls played from Barry and Gary, with Barry getting the upper hand in the final overs to win 25-14. Congratulations to both players on an excellent display of bowls (Reporting by Wayne Thrussell).

Rumour has it, Darrin (Rooster) Darcy has been offered big bucks to play at Lake Cathie, but a large transfer fee was being asked, so everyone chipped in to make it happen

This week bowls, is limited to Wednesday Social only, with the Friday Jackpot being cancelled due to the Classic Triples being played on Saturday and Sunday. Names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start mufti dress. To enter ring Chicka 0423787325, Griffo 0413052684 or text Frank 0417698899.
