Wednesday Social Bowls was played in extremely blustery conditions, making things especially challenging. Jeff Wylie and Peter Griffith mastered conditions to claim top prize. Runners Up were Rocky Davis, Ray Pantlin and Bob Simms.
In the Friday Jackpot Triples, the jackpot wasn’t won, so Treasurer Tony kept the cash once again. The winning team was Reggie Robb, Ian (Hodgo) Hodgkinson, and Dean Gemmell. Runners Up were John Gemmell, Howard Burrows and Gary Hamilton. Vouchers winners were Viv Gunter (drew himself), Rocky Davis, Peter Laing and Dave Harvey. You might notice “Raffles" McGregor was not on the list, although Clever Tony, when handed a ticket, simply said "come on" & waited till Steve got up then said "Peter Laing”, which brought the house down! Club Major Singles has now commenced, and will continue on Sundays for the next few weeks. Round 1 winners were David Jones, Mick Ashford, Adrian Hilton, Gary Martin, Brett Irwin, Andrew Richards, Peter Laing, Peter Griffith, Barrie Isaac, Jeb Keighery, Greg Darcy, Rocky Davis, Frank Raczka, Stewart Rogan and Dave Harvey. There was some great matches, with Reggie Robb playing some fantastic bowls to push Stewart Rogan right to the end, and the match between Wayne Thrussell and Terry Miles being a showcase of great skill. Terry took an early lead, before Wayne battled back, but Terry was able to hold on to claim victory.
