Wednesday Social Bowls saw Bruce Gornall and Andrew Richards claim the winners prize. Runners Up were George Wise and Daryle Barr. Voucher winners were Viv Gunter, Ian Orr, Bob Carr, Dave Harvey, Ray Pantlin and (of course) Steve McGregor.

In the Friday Jackpot Triples, the jackpot wasn’t won, so Treasurer Tony had a smile like a Cheshire Cat. The winning team was John Gemmell, Gary Hamilton and Greg Darcy. Runners Up were Bill O’Donnell, Jean Donald and Terry Duff. Vouchers winners were Viv Gunter (junior McGregor), Peter Mauger, Andrew Richards and Bill O’Donnell.

Zone 14 Fours were played at Kew on Saturday, with 84 bowlers from throughout the zone competing in Open, Senior, and Reserve classes. We were ably represented by Rocky Davis, Steve McGregor, Brett Irwin and Frank Raczka, who won their first game, but went down in the last end of their next game. The BBQ was also a huge success with no poisonings being reported.

Club Major Singles saw the Quarter Finals being completed on Sunday. Earlier, Stewart Rogan made a great comeback to defeat Frank Raczka. In other games, Barrie Isaac was victorious over Greg Darcy, Gary Martin was successful against David Jones, and Andrew Richards managed a win over Peter Griffith. There was a good number of spectators watching these games with great interest, seeing some fantastic games played. The Semi Finals will see Barrie Isaac play Stewart Rogan, and Andrew Richards play Gary Martin.

The Handicap Pairs (3 bowl pairs, 25 ends) is now open, and entries close on 29th October. Teams will be assigned randomly, taking into account assigned handicaps. Get your entry in quick, for what should be a great competition. The first round is scheduled for 12th of November.

Quote of the Week: After Adrian said he had to replace two tyres, Mick Ashford said “Only 2 tyres? You couldn’t have been doing burnouts. You’d have a better chance of doing burnouts on a walker !!”.

Bowls this week are Wednesday Social and Saturday Cashpot Triples, names in by 11.30 for a 12.30 start mufti dress. To enter ring Chicka 0423787325, Griffo 0413052684 or text Frank 0417698899.

Well, that's the scoop for this week. Cheers Andrew
