Weekly Newsletter - 9th September, 2023

Monday Monthly Pairs was played in near perfect conditions with some fantastic games being played. Trent Goffin/Troy Eames claimed 1st prize, 2nd place going to Harvey Phillips/ Rob Hagen, 3rd place Glen Hanes/Gavin Thomas, and 4th place going to Peter Griffith/Rob Edwards. Round winners were Brad Conway/Dave Harvey, Mick Ashford/Steve McGregor and Trevor Boyle/Peter Laing.

Wednesday Social Bowls saw Reggie Robb, David Wagstaff and Phil Collins claim the winners prize. Runners Up were Peter Mauger, Denis Squires and Peter Griffith. The voucher winners were John O’Neill, Ian Poole, Viv Gunter and Andrew Richards. It was great to see Reggie back. Apparently, while he was in hospital he filled the “swear box” so many times the hospital has now commenced construction of the “Reggie Robb Wing”.

Men's Division 4 Pennants saw Kew Red defeat Sawtell 50-27 on the Master Board and take all the points to win the Zone Pennants. They will now be off to Warilla next May to play in the State Finals. Team A.Hilton/S.Rogan/P.Ryan/W.Thrussell won their rink 25-14, while team F.Raczka/B.Irwin/D.Jones/R.Davis won their rink 25-13. Congratulations guys on a great result !!!!!!

In the Friday Jackpot Triples, the jackpot was not won. The winning team was Reggie Robb, Ian (Hodgo) Hodgkinson, and Dean Gemmell. Thats two wins to Reggie this week! Runners Up were Bill O’Donnell, Jean Donald and Terry Duff. Voucher winners were Steve McGregor, Peter Mauger, Dave Wagstaff and Mick Ashford.

In Club Championship Pairs, the Quarter Finals have now been played, with semi finals scheduled for 17th Sept 2023. The Quarter Final Results were:

- R. Davis / H. Burrows def. J. Dixon / W. Thrussell 21-14
- M. Hammond / T. Miles def. P. Griffith / M. Stuttard 24-16
