Kew Men's Bowling Club

What a magnificent effort by our division 4 pennant team to win through to the state playoffs at Warilla in November, after just going down on Saturday by 2 shots to Port City Blue they came out on Sunday morning and beat a very good side in Urunga 3 rinks to nil to earn their chance at a state flag. Congratulations from all your bowling mates at Kew.

The semi-finals of the mixed pairs were played Thursday afternoon Sue Hardwick and Bill Bailey were too strong for Leonie Murphy and Brian Charters, Sue had a magic game playing lead and was the player of the match, in the other match it was a very tight game with Joan Turnbull and Peter Griffith just getting the win over Marg and Mick Ashford. The final will be played on Tuesday afternoon at 12.30 good luck to both teams in the final.

Wednesday social and scooting out the door with the cash were John Smith, Bill Bailey and Peter Griffith, in the runner up slot were Terry Duff, Ian Poole and Peter Ryan. Vouchers went to Pat O’Connor, Phil Collins, Ian Poole and Reggie Robb.
