Kew Men's Bowls Club

The second semi-final of the club major singles was played Sunday morning with a good crowd in attendance to watch a pearler of a game between Dean Gemmell and Brian Charters with the scores locked 30 all Dean played the bowl of the match to win 31/30. Congratulations Deano all the best in the final.

In the club triples Steve Anderson, Barrie Isaac and Charles Doyle def Jeff Wylie, Stewart Rogan and Wayne Thrussell, John Smith, Dave Jones and Keven West def Bill O’Donnell, Chicka Thompson and Terry Miles, Robert Tucker, Dick Croft and Brian Charters def Jeff Dixon, Gary Hamilton and Mick Stuttard.

A Memorial service for the late Kath Wholohan will be held at the Queenslake jetty Sirius Drive Lakewood on Saturday the 31st of July at 11am all bowlers who knew Kath and Keven are welcome to attend.

Wednesday social and Steve Anderson, Barrie Isaac and Charles Doyle were the rink winners, in the runner up spot were Brett Irwin, Jim Hopcroft and Rocky Davis. Voucher winners were Jim Hopcroft, Jeff Wylie, Rob Tucker and Wayne Thrussell.

Saturday cashpot triples and scooting out the door with the cash were George Wise, Viv Gunter and terry Miles, 2nd Barrie Isaac, Wayne Thrussell and Charles Doyle and 3rd Reggie Robb, John Gemmell and Dean Gemmell. Vouchers went to Barrie Isaac, Jeff Wylie, Bill Bailey, Marg Ashford and Jeff Dixon.

The minor singles entry sheet is on the board, get your entry in and have go at a great competition.

The 2021 AGM will be held at the club on Saturday the 7th of August starting at 10am office bearers required for 2021/2022 season are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Bowls Organiser, Committee 4, Selectors 3. Other positions required from the floor of the AGM meeting are Flag bearer, Welfare Officer, Publicity Officer. Please return your completed nomination forms to Dave Napper or Chicka Thompson on or before Wednesday the 4th of August. After the meeting enjoy a game of bowls with finger food to follow after the game. There will be some small changes to the Constitution put forward for your approval and the changes will be on the notice board for your appraisal prior to the AGM.
