Kew Men's Bowling Club

Saturday afternoon Dean Gemmell played Mick Stuttard in a quarter final of the major singles Mick shot away with a big lead before Dean got going and powered home to defeat Mick 31/25 Dean will know play Brian Charters in the semi-final on Sunday morning 10am to see who plays Charles Doyle in the final.

The first semi-final of the major singles was contested on Wednesday afternoon Bill Bailey and Charles Doyle had a real battle going on for most of the game with Charles getting the shots required towards the end of game to win the match.

Gary Ruprecht, Rob Edwards and Rocky Davis def Denis Squires, Ian Hodgkinson and Mark Hammond, Jeff Dixon, Gary Hamilton and Mick Stuttard def Dave Napper, Ian Poole and Peter Laing, Robert Tucker, Dick Croft and Brian Charters def Frank Raczka, Steve McGregor and Mick Ashford, Steve Anderson, Barrie Isaac and Charles Doyle def Gary Cheers, Paul Cini and Peter Griffith, Graeme Martin, Trevor Boyle and Dean Gemmell def George Wise, Jeff Nichols and Adrian Hilton, and Reggie Robb, Cliff Kerr and Trevor Robb def Viv Gunter, Bindi Notara and Peter Ryan in the club triples.

Wednesday social and Charles Doyle was the winner, in the runner up spot were Ray Elliott, Jeff Wylie and Barrie Isaac. Voucher winners were Gary Cheers, Mark Hammond, Charles Doyle, Ian Hodgkinson and Jeff Wylie.

Friday jackpot triples and the money stays in the bank and will be worth $332 on Friday the 30th of July, rink winners were Daryle Barr, Doreen Barr and Terry Miles, the runner up slot went to John Gemmell, Steve Anderson and Dean Gemmell. Voucher winners were Peter Laing, Keven West, Adrian Hilton and Dave Napper.

The 2021 AGM will be held at the club on Saturday the 7th of August starting at 10am office bearers required for 2021/2022 season are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Bowls Organiser, Committee 4, Selectors 3. Other positions required from the floor of the AGM meeting are Flag bearer, Welfare Officer, Publicity Officer. Please return your completed nomination forms to Dave Napper or Chicka Thompson on or before Wednesday the 4th of August. After the meeting enjoy a game of bowls with finger food to follow after the game.
