News from Kew - MBC

The news report from the Kew Men's BC for the week ending Sunday the 2nd of May, 2021 is now available.

Kew Men's Bowling Club

The major pairs are getting down to the final stages with two games being on Wednesday Howard Burrows and Rocky Davis def Bindi Notara and Greg Darcy and Brian Charters and Phil Collins def Peter Griffith and Mick Stuttard. On Friday afternoon the first semi-final was played Brian Charters and Phil Collins def Steve McGregor and Adrian Hilton, the second semi-final will be played on Wednesday between Howard Burrows and Rocky Davis and Terry Miles and Robbie Edwards, the final will be played on Friday afternoon weather permitting.

The pennants on Saturday were a mixed bag with the 7s winning 10 nil and the 5s and 2s going down. Sunday pennants the 7s won and the 2s and 5s went down. Next weeks pennants the 2s and 5s are home and the 7s are away to South West Rocks.

Notice to all Bowling Club members, there will be a special General meeting on Wednesday the 19th of May about the unification of men and women’s bowls. This will be an information session followed by the required vote.

Wednesday social and scooting out the door with the cash were Jock Wyper, Steve McGregor and Peter Laing in the runner up possie were John Hilton, Viv Gunter and Reggie Robb. Vouchers went to Paul Cini, John Gemmell, Jock Wyper and Stewart Rogan.

Friday jackpot and the jackpot went off to two very deserving young bowlers Frosty and Phil were lucky ones and the JP is back to $200 next Friday. Voucher winners were Frank Raczka, Ian Poole, Barrie Isaac and Charles Doyle.

Bowls this Week Wednesday social and Friday jackpot triples names in by 11.30 12.30 start both days mufti dress all welcome.
