Kew Men’s Bowls News 23-2-2020.
Sunday morning saw the first of two semi-finals played and what an entertaining match it was with the score changing right up until end 21 and with the scores locked at 16 all an extra end needed to be played and it was a great bowl by Gary the machine Hamilton that gave his side a 3 shot margin Barrie Isaac tried his best but could not get the shot and for the first time in four years missed the final. Congratulations to Gary Cheers, Paul Cini, Gary Hamilton and Peter Griffith on a fine win. Commiserations to Howard Burrows, John Gemmell, Mick Ashford and Barrie Isaac.
Pennants start this Saturday please check the board to see where you are playing and what team you are in it is most important that you tick your name off or let the selectors know that you can’t play, good luck to all teams.
Saturday saw an inhouse pennant trial at the club and an enjoyable afternoon was had by all with some nibbles and a short talk by Mr T Miles after the bowls. The winners for the afternoon were Jeff Wylie, George Wise, Wayne Thrussell and Wicky Ray Allan, in the runner up spot was Ian Paris Hilton, Kerry Deas, Bob Sims and Dave Jones. Vouchers went to Keith Nichols, Terry Miles, Bob Sims and Ray Allan
The Friday jackpot has increased once more and will be worth $506 on Friday the 6th of March. Rink winners and taking home the dosh was John Hilton, Brian Charters and Mick the bickie eater Ashford, in the runner up spot was Jeff Nichols, Viv Gunter and Rod Sutton. Vouchers went to John Jarvis, Ian Paris Hilton, Keith Nichols and Ingo Model.
Wednesday social and winning the cash was Bill O’Donnell and Pat O’Connor, the runner up loot went to Ray Elliott, John Jarvis and Mick the bickie eater Ashford. Voucher winners were Kerry Deas, Jeff Mrs Brown Nichols, Chicka Thompson, Frank Raczka and Peter Griffith.
Monday monthly pairs are on the 2nd of March this an open event men, women or mixed grab a mate and have a game at the friendly club uniform dress with a 9am start.
The club pairs there is an entry sheet on the board entries close Saturday the 7th of March with the first round to be played by Sunday the 22nd of March.
Wednesday social is the bowls this week names in by 11.30 12.30 start mufti dress all welcome.
