News from Port City

The news report from the Port City Men's BC for the week ending Sunday 1st February is now available thanks to Colin Halls.

Dress code for social bowls is club uniform/creams or smart casual, with collared shirt, neat shorts/slacks

What a great day the ashes test was !!. A narrow victory to the Aussies, some friendly sledging and what about MC Leigh rendition of Waltzing Matilda- eat your heart out John Williamson.

The annual Four Club Round Robin for grades 1 and 3 will be held this Saturday 7th February at Kempsey Heights with roll up at 8.45am. Team sheet is on the board.

The second pennant trial is set down for Tuesday 10th February, with Grades 5-7 at 2.30-5 pm followed by a BBQ and grades 1-4 from 6-8 pm. The team lists are on the board so please tick your names to assist the selectors.

As the Australia Day festivities were washed out, we will be holding a black Friday 13th February twilight mixed triples starting at 5pm. All the prizes and give aways from Australia Day will be given out. Everyone will win a prize.

Port City will be hosting LNC representative trials on the 14th February at 9 am for 9.30 start. There are a number of Port City bowlers engaged so please check the sheets on the board and tick your names.

Barefoot Bowls Corporate Challenge season 11 will start on February 26th and will run for 6 weeks. This year it will be run under Bowls NSW Jack Attack format. Full details will be available shortly

The club championship triples begin this week, and entries for the fours close on Saturday 7th February at 5pm.

Free coaching is available on Sunday mornings ( bowls provided). Just turn up at 10 am.

Thursday:- Winners:- T. Cornforth-P. Gilligan.  Consolation: A. Eames-K. Ashdown.  After missing the jackpot last week, Brian Stokes together with Brian Richardson took out the $600 jackpot.

Friday:- Winners:  T. Newell-K. Lipscombe.  Consolation P. Smith-C. Buchanan.  Geoff Ball missed by 1 number  to take out the jackpot.
