News from Port City WBC

The news report from the Port City Women's BC for the week ending Tuesday 24th February, 2015 is now available.

After all the rain of the past few days, the clouds parted and we were able to enjoy a morning of bowls!  President Barbara welcomed visiting pennant players from North Haven and with 6 rinks of Pennant being played, there was plenty for the spectators to watch!

27 social players took to the greens as well and there were no complaints about the greens being “heavy” – everyone just happy to be able to get out there and play!

Pennant results:  Grade 1 Port City def North Haven,  Grade 2 North Haven def Port City, Grade 3 Port City (1) def Port City (2), Grade 4 Kew def Port City.

Lucky rinks:

1st –             Judy Brady, Shirley Devine, Barbara Barrett, Debbie Amor.

2nd –            Trish Wellings, Helen Carr, Daphne Sumsky.

Consolation: North Haven Grade 2 Pennant Team.

Raffles –       1st Lorraine Conroy, 2nd Wilma Stedman (North Haven),
3rd Margaret Dornan.

60 Club -       Helen Carr, Janet Ross (North Haven), Betty Hodgson.

Major Singles entries close next Tuesday, 2 March.  Veterans’ Day notice is on the board so make sure you put your name down if you wish to attend.
