News from Kempsey Heights

A news release from the Kempsey Heights Men's BC is now available with thanks to Maurice Smith.

We welcome Maurice's contribution to 'Latest Bowls News' and look forward to additional news from Kempsey Heights in the future.
Kempsey Heights Bowling Club holds highly successful tournament
The KHBC Men’s Triples competition sponsored by long term Club member Charlie Ball has been a sell-out success with a full field of 84 bowlers all keen to take home the more than $600 in prize money.

A heavy downpour about ten minutes after the competition started failed to dampen spirits and the synthetic greens handled the water really well. By contrast, the grass green remained submerged for about 30 minutes!

Two games of eleven ends were played, winners playing winners in the second round.

The winning team, skipped by popular young player Chris Hazelwood included Neil Carroll as second and John Elbourne leading.

This event proved that an interesting competition, with reasonable prize money will attract a capacity field. Thanks again to Charlie Ball who has done so many good things for this club over the years.
Other prize winners were:

Second Place Mick Flanagan Skip Warren Lanchester Second Greg Hudson Lead

Third Place Phil Baker Skip Brad Short Second John Armstrong Lead.
